Ancient City Baptist Church began with eighteen original founding members in 1887 meeting in the Genovar Opera House armory on St. George Street downtown. In 1894 local railroad mogul Henry Falgler gifted the congregation a parcel of land near what was then the famous Ponce de Leon Hotel (now Flagler College). On February 2, 1896 the building was finished and dedicated. 130 years later and we are still devoted to declaring the gospel of God's grace in Jesus Christ and making disciples who make disciples. In this ever-changing, fast-growing community in the heart of St. John's County we want to be a reservoir of God's love pouring out his love to others.
